The town of Brazos Bottom.

Cowographers

Many folks ask us the meaning of the name "Cowographers". It simply means the study of all things related to cattle.

Many is the day that our Lazy Deputy has spent looking at cows... and shooting the bull... studying, learning, absorbing knowledge... while he puts off cleaning the shotgun. Let's hope the Sheriff don't catch him daydreaming when he should be working.

Lawmen

There's a new Sheriff in town and he don't put up with much. Except from his wife, the Meanest Woman in Town.

The Sheriff is assisted by his deputies (who work cheap) and the occasional posse when things get rough. The problem with hiring deputies who will work cheap is the Sheriff has to take what he can get... even though there are stringent requirements, such as breathing and owning a gun.

Ladies

The West just wouldn't have been the West without the showgirls, barmaids, floozies, and ladies of negotiable affection. We like to think our floozies are the prettiest girls this side of the Nueces... or was that the Brazos?

They all have hearts of gold. But don't cross them or they might just give you a lesson in pushing up daisies.

Outlaws

What little town doesn't have its troublemakers? Ours are pretty much the same as in any town filled with Bank Robbers, land-grabbing Cattle Barons and Railway men, carpet-bagging Yankees , corrupt Politicians, and the occasional drunken Cowboy.

Gamblers

Where there's gold, there's men willing to play cards for it. Dealing off the bottom of the deck is frowned upon here in Brazos Bottom. And many a pot has been won with a pair of sixes. Six Shooters, that is.

But don't shoot anybody at the card table, cuz we have a funny law here that you have to pay the dead man's debts... which have a tendency to mount...
